Shell on Earth's recycled crushed whelk shells are carefully washed, dried, and finely processed to create a smaller, more uniform finish—perfect for delicate top dressing. Each fully recyclable, hand-tied paper bag contains approximately 1kg of sustainably sourced shells, giving new purpose to a by-product from the Andrew family’s seafood processing business on the west coast of Wales.
This finer grade has been thoughtfully crushed and riddled to produce neat, consistent pieces that sit beautifully on the surface of miniature pots and terrariums. Ideal for succulents and small houseplants, it creates a clean, polished look while still supporting drainage and airflow around your plants.
The bag features artwork by watercolour artist Tanya Glama, inspired by her love of travel and botanical gardens. After discovering succulents on her journeys, she began collecting and painting them, with the illustration on this Super Crush bag taken from her own collection.
As a natural product from the sea, Shell on Earth take care to remove any foreign material, though occasional traces may remain. The paper bag and tie handles are 100% recyclable, keeping things as low waste as possible.
